Augmented video mirror
What is it?
The content of the video is overlayed with visual elements on the screen. These elements will be controlled by the user movement and user's face creating interesting elements on screen. When multiple users come in, it could create interconnected patterns between/among them. Longer the time one spends, more the effect. More the people looking at it, wilder/crazier the effect. Right now I am imagining a sort of lattice structure among people viewing, but I will definitely work on it to enhance the experience.
How did you become interested in it?
I am fascinated by computer vision. For my pixels assignment, I had made a face tracking overlay using openCV library to create funny faces. That is when I came across the video below and was inspired by it. This has gone to another level but I am essentially thinking of augmented video sort of thing.
The full video is below.
Who is the audience?
Anyone interested in looking at their own face.
1. How do I make face tracking work when faces are at an angle?
2. Since the class is going to be the primary audience - Should it be funny visualizations or serious?
